Al Kaline Hits Tigers to Win Over Orioles

by @ 12:09 pm. Filed under 1967 Tigers, 1967 Tigers Diary - May

May 6, 1967 at Tiger Stadium
Tigers 4, Orioles 1  (12-7)

Earl Wilson followed up Mickey Lolich’s shutout from yesterday with a gem of his own.  He also gave the pen a break and he gave up only one run on seven hits and three walks with four strikeouts in the complete game.

Al Kaline did it all.  He singled, homered, stole a base, scored two runs and had an RBI.  Jerry Lumpe came up big when his pinch hit single in the eighth with the bases loaded drove home Kaline and Jim Northrup.
