Senators 11, Angels 1 (54-49)
The Angels dropped their fifth straight in an embarrasing loss to the Senators in the first game of a doubleheader. Rickey Clark took the loss and he fell to 8-7 on the season. He gave up five runs (just one earned) on five hits and three walks with two strikeouts in four innings of work. Jim Coates was shelled for six runs in 2 2/3 innings.
Woodie Held went two for four with an RBI. Rick Reichardt went two for three with a walk.

Angels 10, Senators 2 (55-49)
The Angels snapped their five game losing streak with a big win and they salvaged a split of their doubleheader. Jim Fregosi led the way at the plate and he went two for five with a triple, three RBIs and a run. Bill Skowron had a pinch hit single to drive in two runs and he scored once.
George Brunet improved to 10-12 on the season. He gave up two runs on seven hits and a walk with seven strikeouts in six innings of work. Bill Kelso closed out the game with three shutout innings and he picked up his sixth save of the season.
