The Angels continued their improbable run with their sixth straight game as the season headed into the All Star break. George Brunet improved to 7-11 with a nice start. He gave up two runs on four hits and two walks with six strikeouts in 8 2/3 innings. Minnie Rojas got the final batter out and he picked up his 14th save of the season.
Don Mincher provided most of the offense with a two run homer. Jim Fregosi doubled and he scored a run.
