White Sox 5 (27-18), Red Sox 3 (24-23)

The White Sox knocked Bucky Brandon around and despite the Red Sox outhitting the Red Sox 10-8, the White Sox got it done where it mattered and walked away with a 5-3 win.  Brandon gave up five runs on seven his and two walks with five strikeouts in six innings and the loss dropped him to 2-6 on the season.  For the White Sox, Hoyt Wilhelm picked up the win with some solid relief pitching.  He didn’t allow a run in his 1 2/3 innings of relief.

Tommie Agee singled and drove in two runs for the White Sox.  J.C. Marin also had a nice game and he went two for two with a run.  For the Red Sox, Mike Ryan went two for three with an RBI while Mike Andrews went two for four with a run.
