by @ 10:38 am. Filed under 1967 Red Sox, 1967 Red Sox Diary - June

June 18, 1967 at D.C. Stadium
Senators 3, Red Sox 2 (31-31)

Carl Yastrzemski hit a two run homerun in the top of the ninth to tie the Red Sox’ game up and send it into extra frames but unfortunately, the bullpen lost it in extra innings.  Jose Santiago was tagged for a run in the bottom of the tenth and he took the loss as the Red Sox dropped their three game series to the Senators 1-3.

A pretty good start by Lee Stange went to waste in the loss. He gave up two runs on seven his and a walk with three strikeouts in eight solid innings.
