Curt Simmons Throws Ten Hit Shutout In Angels Debut

by @ 12:44 pm. Filed under 1967 Angels, 1967 Angels Diary - August

August 9, 1967 at Anaheim Stadium
Angels 7 (59-53), Yankees 0

Just days after purchasing him from the Chicago Cubs, Curt Simmons paid the Angels some dividends by going out and throwing a ten hit shutout in their series finale with the Yankees.  He walked two and struck out one in the win.

Jose Cardnal led the way at the plate in a pretty balanced offensive attack by the Angels. Six different hitters had two hits and Cardenal went two for four with three RBIs and a run.
