Dennis Bennett improved to 1-1 on the season with a six hit shutout over the Angels.  He gave up three walks and struck out two and it would be Bennett’s last shutout of his career.  For the Angels, Jorge Rubio was hit hard and he dropped to 0-2 on the season.  He gave up four runs on five hits and four walks in 3 1/3 innings.

Bennett helped out his own cause with a big three run homer in the fourth inning.  George Scott drove in the other run for the Red Sox earlier in the inning with a solo homer.  Jose Cardenal was the only Angel with more then one hit.  He went two for four in the loss.
