The Tigers finished up their series against the Orioles with a win behind a three hit shutout by Denny McLain. Virtually unhittable, McLain improved to 13-12 and he gave up only one walk with six strikeouts in the seven inning game that was called because of rain.
Bill Freehan had two singles and two RBIs for the Tigers. Al Kaline doubled twice and scored twice while Norm Cash went one for four with one RBI and two runs.
