Dick McAuliffe Hits Tigers to Win Over Senators

Tigers 8, Senators 4  (47-42)

The Tigers won their first series since the All Star break as they doubled up the Senators.  Dick McAuliffe led the way with the bat.  He doubled, tripled, scored twice and drove in two runs.  Mickey Stanley also had a good game.  He went three for four with an RBI.

Joe Sparma picked up his tenth win of the season.  He gave up four runs (two earned) on six hits and four walks with six strikeouts in 7 2/3 innings.  Mike Marshall closed the game out with two strikeouts and he picked up his fifth save of the season.
