The Angels came from behind against the Athletics to win their fifth straight game. Rickey Clark was pulled in the third inning when he gave up three runs but the Clyde Wright out of the pen and the hitters picked him up. Wright threw 6 1/3 shutout innings and he gave up just one hit with four strikeouts.
Don Mincher tripled, drove in three and scored a run. Jimmie Hall went two for four with a two run homer.
