George Brunet’s Solid Start Is Wasted In Angels Loss

by @ 5:12 pm. Filed under 1967 Angels, 1967 Angels Diary - May

May 9, 1967 at Anaheim Stadium
Yankees 2, Angels 1  (12-13)

Once again, the Angels offense was flat and a great start by George Brunet went to waste.  He gave up two runs (one earned) on three hits and three walks with five strikeouts in eight innings.  The loss drops him to 1-5 on the season.

The lone run of the game actually came in the first inning so for a few innings, the Angels had the lead.  Don Mincher singled home Jim Fregosi and Fregosi was the only Angels’ hitter with two hits in the game.
