Jim McGlothlin held the Red Sox to just three hits in a pitchers duel with Red Sox starter Lee Stange.  McGlothlin walked one and struck out four in the shutout win while Stange gave up just the one run on four hits and a walk with five strikeouts in seven innings of work.

Jimmie Hall scored the only run of the game for either side.  In the fourth inning, he singled and eventually scored on a wild pitch.  Mike Andrews had two of the three hits in the game for the Red Sox.
