Mickey Lolich Is Hit Hard in Tigers Loss

by @ 2:24 pm. Filed under 1967 Tigers, 1967 Tigers Diary - May

May 27, 1967 at Tiger Stadium
Senators 8, Tigers 1  (23-14)

The Senators turned the tables on the Tigers and blew them out in an 8-1 beatdown.  Mickey Lolich gave up five hits without getting a single batter out and all five of those baserunners came around to score.  It took three pitchers to get the Tigers through a six run first inning by the Senators.

Don Wert drove in the only run of the game for the Tigers.  Dick McAuliffe, Bill Freehan and Wert all had two hits in the game.
