The Tigers won a rain shortened game in their series opener agains the Indians.  The game lasted only five innings and in those five, Mickey Lolich was virtually unhittable.  He gave up only a single hit with four strikeouts and he improved to 7-12 on the season.

The Tigers scored all four of their runs in the second inning.  Eddie Mathews got things going with an RBI single to put the Tigers on the board and that helped spark a four run inning.
