Red Sox 4 (27-25), Senators 3
Joe Foy and George Scott provided the bulk of the offense in the Red Sox win over the Senators in the first game of their doubleheader. Scott went three for four with two doubles and he scored a run. Foy went two for four with a double, two RBIs and a run.
Bucky Brandon left after five innings down 3-0 but the pen and the hitters picked him up. Jose Santiago picked up the win with three shutout innings and John Wyatt threw a scoreless ninth to pick up his seventh save.

Senators 8, Red Sox 7 (27-26)
The Red Sox didn’t get much quality piching in a tough loss in the second game of their doubleheader with the Senators. Gary Waslewski walked five and gave up four runs (only one earned) in three innings and Dan Osinski took the loss when he gave up three runs in two innings.
Joe Foy had four hits and he scored three runs in the loss. George Scott and Tony Conigliaro each hit a homerun and Conigliaro finished with three hits, two runs and two RBIs.
