The Tigers snapped a four game losing streak with a nice team effort by the offense.  All eight hits and all seven runs came from different Tigers.  Don Wert, Willie Horton and Norm Cash all drove in two runs.

Joe Sparma improved to 8-1.  He gave up three runs on six hits and five walks with six strikeouts in six innings of work.  Dave Wickersham threw the final three frames and gave up a run to pick up his fifth save of the season.
