Luis Tiant complete shutdown the Tigers bats and Mickey Lolich had his second straight rough outing in a blow out loss to the Indians. Tiant pitched a complete game shutout and struckout thirteen Tigers.
Mickey Lolich dropped to 5-5 and he gave up two runs on four hits and two walks in only three innings of work. Larry Sherry was bombed for four runs and Pat Dobson was tagged for two.
The only Tiger who could figure out Tiant was Jim Northrup. He had three of the Tigers’ six hits.
