July 21, 1967 at Tiger Stadium
Tigers 4, Yankees 2  (48-42)

The Tigers topped the Yankees and won for the third time in four games with a solid outing by Denny McLain.  He improved to 11-11 and he gave up two runs on six hits and two walks with six strikeouts in seven innings of work.  Mike Marshall continued to work effectively as the teams closer and he picked up his sixth save with two innings of scoreless relief.

Willie Horton had three hits, a run and two RBIs to lead the way for the Tigers.  Don Wert went three for five with a run and Bill Freehan had two hits, a run and RBI.  Oddly, the Tigers had fifteen hits in the game and fourteen of them were singles.
