White Sox 5 (40-26), Orioles 4
The White Sox scored five runs in the final three innings to beat the Orioles by a single run. Neither team had scored through five innings before each team put up a flurry of runs near the end of the game. The White Sox got the go ahead run in the ninth when Ken Berry singled home Jimmy Stewart and Wayne Causey to turn a 4-3 deficit into a 5-4 win. Ironically, all three of those hitters were pinch hitters.
Bob Locker picked up the win despite giving up the lead in the bottom of the eighth inning. He improved to 2-2 on the season. Hoyt Wilhelm threw a perfect ninth and he picked up his fifth save of the season.
