The White Sox won their second straight game in the front end of their doubleheader with the Yankees. Ken Berry and Ron Hansen each had two hits, two RBIs and a run while Jim King drove in two with a pinch hit single.
Gary Peters improved to 9-3 on the season with a nice start. He gave up three runs (one earned) on five hits and five walks with three strikeouts in a complete game.

The White Sox won their third straight game behind an outstanding outing by Tommy John. He improved to 6-3 with a six hit shutout with one walk and five strikeouts.
Pete Ward hit a pinch hit solo homerun. Don Buford singled, drew a walk, scored a run and drove in one in the win.
