White Sox 3 (42-26), Orioles 2
The White Sox won their league leading 42nd game of the season and their third straight in a tight game over the Orioles. The big hit came off the bat of Wayne Causey. He picked a good time to hit his homerun because he drove in all three White Sox runs with a three run homer. Ron Hansen was a perfect three for three in the win.
Bob Locker picked up the win with 2 1/3 innings of shutout relief. He improved to 3-2 on the season and Hoyt Wilhelm picked up save number six as he got the final two outs for the Sox.
